Interaction

The moto of our system can be decompose on two parts : the least intrusive device approach, that repose of the use of devices that keep total liberty of movement of users, easy to wear/remove or grab/release, and robust for the tracking. The other part is notion of low haptic feedback, that use the possibility of the real environment for furnish a tactile/force feedback during manipulation. The two main points is maximize contact with real object (table support), and respect low of gravity.

Devices

We developp three kinds of devices :
  • The mixed-pen, a pen with you can write, sketch, but also manipulate in 6DOF virtual elements.
  • The hand-tracked device, an easy wearable/removable device, that use possibility of finger for interactions. With you can always manipulate naturally real object, but also manipulate with virtual object, or do gesture for the system.
  • Tangible user interface, for manipulate virtual object with real object.

Metaphor and Tools

Moving element
for moving element we are inspired of real metaphor, and we propose two method, the lift-move method and the slide-metaphor.
Adding Element
For adding elements we combine differents approach : virtual menu, the catalogue metaphor (the same that the VOMAR Prototype), and pen gesture recognition.
We can add real object, predefined model or generic model.

Navigation

User can naturally move their head for change the point of view, based on tracking of the head. But like the Magic Book System, user can be immerse on the virtual scene, and move on the virtual world.
